NOTICE & REIMPOSITION OF TOURISM TAX ON FOREIGN TOURISTS

Effective from 1 January 2023, foreign tourists staying at registered accommodation premises in Malaysia are subject to pay a Tourism Tax of RM10 per room per night. The reimposition of Tourism Tax on foreign tourist is mandatory and regulated by the Ministry of Finance Malaysia and the Royal Malaysian Customs Department.

 

Under the Tourism Tax (Exemption) Order 2017, Malaysians and Permanent Residents with MyPR cards are exempted from paying the Tourism Tax.

 

We are also excited to announce that Redang Island Resort will be reopened for stays effective 1 March 2023 until 31 October 2023. How to get here

By Public Ferry

From the mainland, you can travel to Redang Island Resort via public ferry services (1 hour 30 minutes). Public ferry services are available from Shahbandar Jetty to Village Jetty in Redang Island. Kindly contact ferry operator services from Sejahtera Ferry Services Sdn Bhd at +60(9) 622 5233 to obtain ferry schedules or placement of reservations. Kindly take note that boarding time is 30 minutes prior to actual departure time and the ferry services are available from March - October every year.

By Direct Flight

For convenience, you may also opt to fly direct from Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport (Subang Airport) to Redang Airport via Berjaya Air's Jojo Flight and SKS Airways. The journey from Subang Airport to Redang Airport is just over an hour.

 

Marine Park Conservation Fee
In conjunction of our government’s efforts to conserve marine life, a fee has been imposed which will be used towards management and maintenance of the marine parks in order to provide facilities and convenience to visitors
